A lot of people find Sol after their usual drink stops agreeing with them. Maybe the third coffee of the day leaves them jittery or unsettled. Maybe the café latte turned out to be mostly syrup. Maybe a hot chocolate before bed is something they'd like to stop needing.
Changing one daily cup is one of the easier changes to make, because you keep the ritual and change what's in the mug. Here's how to make the swap and make it stick.
Pick the cup you're replacing
Start with one cup, not all of them. Which Sol you choose depends on the one you're swapping.
- The afternoon coffee. Choose Original. It has no caffeine, and maca, the Andean root in the blend, has traditionally been taken for energy and stamina. Have it at the time you'd usually reach for the coffee.
- The morning coffee, if you want to cut down rather than stop. Choose Cacao. It contains naturally occurring caffeine from the cacao, along with the same six-spice base.
- The sweet drink after dinner. Choose Original. It has no added sweetener and no caffeine, so you can make it as sweet as you like to begin with and use less over time.
Week one: get the cup right
Your first cup sets the tone, so spend the first week finding the version you like.
Start with half a tablespoon of the blend. Mix it with a splash of warm milk until smooth, then whisk in the rest of the milk, warmed but not boiled. Less milk makes a stronger cup and more milk a gentler one. Try a couple of milks if you have them: oat is creamy, almond lighter, coconut the richest.
If you're coming from a sweetened latte, add a little honey or your usual sweetener for now. Original's Ceylon cinnamon and maca already bring some natural sweetness, so most people find they need less as the weeks go on.
Weeks two to four: make it a habit
A new cup becomes a habit when it's easier than the old one.
- Same time, same mug. Attach Sol to something you already do: the 3 pm break, the kettle after dinner, the walk back from school drop-off.
- Keep the pouch where you'll see it, next to the kettle or the milk rather than in the pantry.
- Make it iced when it's warm. Mix the blend with a splash of warm milk, top up with cold milk and pour over ice. A summer afternoon shouldn't break the habit.
- Have a smoothie on busy mornings. Blend a serve with milk and a banana and you have breakfast too.
A 100 g pouch makes about 25 cups, close to a month of daily cups. A subscription sends a new pouch each month at 15% off with free shipping, so you don't run out halfway through building the habit. You can skip, pause or cancel from your account at any time.
What to expect
We don't promise a fixed timeline. Sol is a food rather than a medicine, and everyone's experience is different.
What you're adding is a daily cup built from ingredients with long histories: turmeric, which supports the body's natural inflammatory response; ginger and cardamom, traditionally used for digestive comfort; cinnamon and cardamom, natural sources of antioxidants; and maca, traditionally taken for energy without caffeine. What you're taking away might be a coffee, a sugary syrup or a late-night hot chocolate.
After a month, most people know whether Sol has earned its place, and which time of day it belongs to.
If you're managing a health condition
Sol fits alongside the care you already have, not in place of it. Keep taking anything your doctor has prescribed, and don't stop a treatment because you've started a new drink.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking blood thinners or managing a health condition, talk to your GP before adding a daily turmeric drink. That's a genuine interaction worth checking, not a formality. And if you're living with ongoing digestive trouble, pain or tiredness that doesn't lift, get it checked. Those symptoms deserve an answer, and a cup of golden milk won't give you one.
